Replacement Glass Lamp Shades

The atmosphere of your room can be changed dramatically by switching from a standard lamp shade to glass lamp shades.  There are so many different styles to choose from and they really do stand out from the regular ones you see in most homes.  If one of them happens to get broken, don’t panic right away!  Replacement glass lamp shades are available in probably the same style that you had or maybe even something different that fits your décor much better.  They come in different styles from angled shades all the way to cased glass shades, so you will be certain to find one you like.

Something I notice when people deter away from purchasing glass shades  is that they state they are worried that the children in the house will break them easily and they will get knocked over constantly and then they will be out of a lamp shade and have a difficult time replacing it.  Well, replacement glass lamp shades aren’t very uncommon to find anymore theses days.  And, depending on what style and size you had in the first place, may be very inexpensive.  But of course, there are the higher pricey ones, so if that is the case then you might want to pass on that style and get a cheaper one, or use that one for a more formal room where the kids shouldn’t be playing around in anyways, such as the dining room.

If you are going to be ordering a replacement, make sure you determine what type you have first off by seeing how it is held in place.  Usually its held in place by 3 screws, sits around a ring or tripod, or just basically sits inside a cup like thing.  You should find that out first before you go on to purchase a new one.  Measure it also if you do not know the correct dimensions, and always remember that when measuring it that glass is always undersized so it provides a nice snug fit.
